Firehouse Brewing Co. opened in 1991 in the heart of downtown Rapid City and is proud to be South Dakota’s oldest operating brewery.

For more than 35 years, we’ve been brewing craft beer right here in our historic downtown firehouse. From crisp lagers and hoppy ales to rich stouts and rotating seasonal releases, there’s always something worth trying on tap.

Pull up a seat and enjoy a pint with us, or take your favorites home. Select Firehouse beers are available in cans, and growlers in a variety of sizes can be filled straight from the tap — perfect for sharing, or not.

Cloud Peak

Belgian Wit • 5/0% ABV • 13 IBU

Refreshing wheat beer brewed with orange peel and coriander in homage to Cloud Peak, the highest summit in Wyoming Bighorn Mountains. Rising 13,167 feet, it sits about 250 miles west of Rapid City.

Bell Tower

American Lager • 5.1% ABV • 12 IBU

Smooth, easy-drinking golden lager with light sweetness and a crisp, refreshing finish. Named after the historic bell toower that still stands on this historic building, where fire hoses were once hung to dry.

Supermeister

Kristallweizen • 4.8% ABV • 9 IBU

A filtered German wheat ale, expect bright citrus flavor with notes of banana and a hint of clove. Traditionally served without a lemon slice, but we’re happy to add one if you’d like.

Hoppy

Bold citrus, pineapple and stone fruit flavors with a snappy, hop-forward finish. Named for man’s best friend and loyal protector, always keeping watch.

Pulaski Pilsner

New

West-Coast Pilsner • 5.4% ABV • 63 IBU

A collaboration with Cohort Craft and Dakota Point benefiting Black Hills Bike Hub. A unique pilsner with bright pine and citrus flavors, a crisp finish and smooth, approachable bitterness.

One Foot Off The Merry-Go-Round

American Pale Ale • 4.9% ABV • 35 IBU

Light-bodied with notes of blueberry, pine, passion fruit and subtle lime. The name is a nod to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, starring Bill Murray as the wonderfully offbeat Steve Zissou.

Slow Town

Hazy IPA • 6.0% ABV • 32 IBU

Our newest year-round offering, this brand-new recipe bursts with juicy pineapple, mango, and bright citrus flavors with a smooth finish. A tongue-in-cheek nod to “Slow Town” Rapid City.

Space Odyssey

Hazy Pale Ale • 4.9% ABV • 40 IBU

Pillowy hazy pale ale bursting with pink grapefruit, passion fruit, and tropical hop flavors. Inspired by the iconic film 2001: A Space Odyssey, it’s brewed with a theorized Berkeley yeast strain for a truly out-of-this-world hop experience.

Tipsy Flamingo

Sour Ale • 3.6% ABV • 5 IBU

Bright pink sour brewed with real pomegranate and passion fruit for a crisp, refreshing balance of sweet fruit and gentle tartness.

Prairie Twilight

Sour Ale • 3.7% ABV • 5 IBU

Light, refreshing sour brewed with prickly pear and agave for bright guava fruit flavors with a clean, tart finish. Named for the colorful South Dakota sunsets across the the prairie at dusk.

Dark & Malty

Märzen • 5.8% ABV • 20 IBU

A traditional Märzen-style German lager with a deep amber color adn a rich, toasty malt character. Smooth, full-bodied and balanced with a clean, crisp finish.

Fire Engine Red

Irish-Style Red • 4.7% ABV • 22 IBU

Bright and balanced with ayers of crystal and roasted malts, notes of toffee, and a hint of light roast coiffee. One of our original beers, brewed since Firehouse Brewing Company opened in 1991.

Smokejumper Stout

American Stout • 5.8% ABV • 45 IBU

Rich Stout with flavors of pumpernickel bread, coffee, dark chocolate & roasted malts. First brewed in 1991 and named for the elite woodland firefighters who parachute into remote fires; the Smokejumper plane is also the centerpiece of Firehenge Roadside Attraction outside Kadoka, SD.

Alternative Ulster

Altbier • 4.9% • 35 IBU

A great choice for amber ale fans, this German-style Alter offers subtle caramel, toasted bread crust, and nutty malt flavors with a mild hop character, and a clean, dry finish.

Black Hills Brown

American Brown Ale • 5.6% ABV • 25 IBU

Toasted bread, pecans, honey, and caramel create a smooth, malt-forward brown ale balanced by earthy hop bitterness. First brewed in 1995, this longtime favorite was originally known as Brown Cow.

Rolling Blackouts

Schwarzbier • 5.1% ABV • 26 IBU

A light-bodied German dark lager with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee and toffee, followed by a crisp, dry finish. Dark in appearance, easy drinking by design–a little blackout without killing the power.

2024 Barrel-Aged Spiced Ale • 6.3% ABV • 30 IBU

Brewed with a carefully selected blend of warming spices and aged in Brazilian Amburana wood, this specialty release offers subtle toffee, layers of cinnamon-like spice, and a pleasantly bitter finish. Available excluseivly as a 500 mL (16.9 oz) bar pour.

How You Brewin?

How You Brewin? is a special collab with Oak Coffee Roasters (of Harriet & Oak in Rapid City). This unique beer blends the smooth drinkability of a blonde ale with rich coffee flavor and the complex character of a white stout. When it hasn’t been your day, your week, or even your year… this beer will be there for you.

A traditional pale German lager with a clean, bready malt characer and smooth, easy-drinking finish. Light hop bitterness keeps it crisp and balanced

Scrumpdiddlyumptious

Chocolate Porter • 8.7% ABV • 31.6 IBU

Step inot a world of pure imagination with this decadent salted chocolate porter. It layers rich cocoa and roasted malt with a touch of sea salt for a smooth, dessert-inspired finish.

Naked Under Me Kilt

Wee Heavy Scotch Ale • 7.5% • 20 IBU

This rich, dark, and malt forward ale is filled with dominant caramel and toffee flavors and low hop bitterness. Deep malt character keeps it smooth and approachable, with a warming finish true to this classic Scottish style.
